Trek 2.1 Sram Apex Aluminum/Carbon Road Racing Bike Bicycle 52cm for sale in Fieldsville, Vermont

$800

This bike was purchased in September of 2012 and has been ridden less than 400 miles. I'll copy in the factory specs as the bike is completely original except for the pedals, which I upgraded to a Look system (see photos or send email to get more photos), and I also upgraded the tires to Bontrager Hardcase Kevlar Reinforced All-Weather Racing Tires with Triple Flat Protection.
This bike is in perfect condition with a couple of small scratches and scuffs, and the handlebar tape is dirty but I planned to replace it with leather and so never bothered to clean it; it will probably clean up just fine if you like this sort of bar tape.
I am an avid cyclist, putting 7,000 - 10,000 miles per year in the saddle. I got this bike as a spare after I broke the frame on my Madone, but it's actually only been ridden by my girlfriend a few times. I've ridden it a couple of times and loved it, but it's not my style. I like steel frames and I don't care for carbon forks. My loss is your gain.
However, I will say that this bike is super fast, nice and stiff and almost too responsive for my taste. When you put your leg into the crank, nearly all of the power is immediately transferred. You can move very, very fast on this bike and it's just as lightweight as most low-end full carbon frames.
This is a good nearly new bike at a steal of a price. And with Sram Apex component group, you won't need to do anything to this bike; just ride it! As you'll see Trek did an excellent job with the 2012 Trek 2.1 wheelset; it's one of the best factory wheelsets at this level that I've seen. Anyway, check out the specs and see for yourself.
Comes with a Cateye LED light and some other extras. The pedals have been upgraded to Look clipless, and the tires have also been upgraded to some kevlar-lined Bontrager all-weather racers.
The Trek 2.1 Apex retails for $1350, and I've put a couple of hundred dollars in upgrades into the bike with just a few hundred miles on it. $800 is an excellent price and I don't expect this bike to be around for long at that cost, so don't bother breaking my balls about the price, unless you don't want the pedals, in which case I'll discount the bike by $25.
